I have a bunch of 16mm cameras that came into my inventory along with other things and have been lounging, neglected, for quite some time. As 16mm is having a little bit of a resurgence, it seemed reasonable to try to find homes for these beginner friendly cameras. The star of this week\u2019s labors are two ARRI 16 ST cameras that needed quite a bit of cleaning, oiling, and basic TLC to bring them back to life. Unfortunately, one camera is missing the magazine take-up motor and both cameras are missing their power cords, but both cameras run well. If I can\u2019t locate stock power cables, I will make some. I am hard on the lookout for the magazine take-up motor, if anyone has a spare. One of the cameras has a stock ARRI constant speed motor, and I also have an ARRI Trockengleichrichter 110V 60 cycle AC power supply with constant speed motor that I can pair with the other camera. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I next focused on a pair of Bolex H16s. These cameras showed signs of heavy use and a bit of abuse, but I was able to get them both wound up and running with film. The last thing I had time to finish was this extremely utilitarian Krasnogorsk-3 16mm spinning mirror reflex, wind-up camera. It is very basic, but functional. Perfect for someone who wants to try out shooting on film for the first time. Even includes a serviceable 17-69mm T1.9 zoom lens. I was not able to test the meter on this camera as it has a battery I have not yet sourced a replacement for, but it ran film with no problems. For next week, I am finishing up work on a Cinema Products CP16 that has needed a lot of clean up and replacement belts.
