Last week, this gorgeous Path\u00e9 Cinematographe came into the shop to be cleaned and serviced before being offered for sale to some lucky person. I have only had time to do a quick walk around to take a closer look at the incredible engineering and amazing forethought that this camera represents. This Path\u00e9 is housed in an all-wooden case with black leather accents. We are still researching to determine the model of this particular camera, and hopefully the year it was manufactured. All that aside, this camera shows fascinating evolutions from earlier cameras, as this model incorporates a variable shutter, automatic fade, remote focus control, remote f-stop control, 3-digit mechanical counter, and footage dial. In addition, the camera includes a parallax adjusted finder, and an eyepiece for critical focusing through the film (this is before film had a remjet backing). I will go into much more detail as I progress through the restoration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
