Mitchell 8-perf pull across VistaVision camera, originally introduced in 1956 as the light-weight, hand-held VistaVision camera. Nicknamed the butterfly camera because of the configuration of the magazines, the light-weight VistaVision camera was first used on the 1956 feature film "The Mountain", starring Spencer Tracy, Robert Wagner, and Claire Trevor. Over the years, this butterfly camera evolved to include a Fries Engineering spinning mirror reflex system, video tap, Energy Products crystal motor, swing-away matte box, and a Nikon lens mount, making this camera even more production friendly. The camera continues to employ its always reliable Mitchell movement, which features 3-pin registration and dual 4-pin pull-down claw. After being rescued from a garage where it had been sitting for a very long time, this camera and its accessories have been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, and brought back to shooting condition once more.
