This week we come to you with a quandary. We acquired a couple of these motors made by the Mitchell Camera Company in a lot purchase, not knowing anything about them. They are not like any of the many, many Mitchell motors I have worked with before. They are labeled as model TA and were made while Mitchell was located in Glendale. These motors operate at 110V AC and feature a mechanical gearbox speed control with settings at 16, 10, and 24 fps. The shaft coupling is a unique size, not like drive shaft on a Standard, NC, or BNC. They are probably out of the military, my guess would be from the Air Force. Have you ever seen one of these before? Do you know what they were used for/what cameras they worked with? We would love to know! Your expertise is welcome!
