Happy new year everyone! A brief progress report on the Freehead for this first Friday of the new year: It’s as finished as I have time to work on it. Because this project is so interesting, it has gone way over the time I had set aside to finish it. There is still some air in the tilt axis that I haven’t been able to get out, but it works acceptably. Time to move on to finishing up the camera and presenting a working package. Here you can see the Fox Freehead on a set of Burns & Sawyer wooden sticks. Didn’t it clean up nicely? I think the new handle I made for it looks pretty nice as well.
