As we continue to find treasures that have been buried in our inventory for decades, we came across these two very interesting and unusual Zeiss Tessar lenses. The Zeiss Tessar was designed by Paul Randolph in 1902 for the Carl Zeiss company. The Tessar was innovative in its design that included four elements in three groups. The Tessar lenses became very popular because of their superior imaging quality and their flatness of field. These particular lenses include a Zeiss Tessar 5cm f3.5 and a Zeiss Tessar 10.2cm f4.5, both mounted for a Parvo Model L. The Parvo was one of the most popular cameras early motion picture cameras in Europe, and remains highly collectible today.
