As I am feverishly trying to bring the Fox camera back to shooting condition, a few items remain unfinished. The pan tilt head is stalled while I try to remove the rest of the stubborn screws, wait for rubber hand grips to arrive, and as I machine the pan handle extension locking lever. I have now turned my attention to powering the camera. According to the camera’s maintenance manual, the motor on this camera requires 96V DC to operate. I am told by a couple of reliable technicians that a simple bridge rectifier that has a 110V AC 60Hz input and roughly a 96V DC output will give me a 96V pulsating DC power source to run this motor with.
I hope that this is good advice as a bridge rectifier will arrive here in a few days and we will try to run the camera without burning it up. If all goes well, and if I can get the rest of the screws to come out of the pan tilt head, all that remains to be completed before I can demonstrate the camera running is simple maintenance on magazines and accessories. The last unknown here is if the automatic slater is repairable. If any of you have tried running one of these cameras this way and had good or bad experience, please let me know!
