Success! Thanks to the folks at Jim’s Tap Extraction Service in Torrance, CA, the broken hardened screws were EDMed out of the casting of the Fox Freehead! Also, at the 11th hour yesterday, the grease I was recommended finally arrived. In the meantime, I went on a search to see if the original ¼-20 fillister head slotted screws were available in today’s market. This was almost as frustrating an endeavor as finding the grease. I then made the decision to machine 2 replacement screws in house. Two and a half hours of work later, I had a drawing and 2 replica screws in hand. I did make one small compromise and machined a slot where the threads would end so my button die would have an easy time cutting the threads. All in all, I think these look very close to the original.
